Yield Response to Nitrogen Management in a Corn-Soybean Sequence in North Central Kansas

نویسندگان

چکیده

The aim of this study was to evaluate the response corn (Zea mays L.) grain yield nitrogen (N) fertilizer application and its residual effect on soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) seed yield. During 2020 growing season, a corn-soybean rotation continued at Scandia, KS (USA), evaluating five N rates in under both dryland irrigated conditions. Average yields ranged from 110 206 bu/a for dryland, 198 221 Under maximum were achieved with an apparent soil supply level 350 lb N/a (fertilizer plus N); while removing water limitations irrigation resulted maximized ca. 250 N/a. varied 66 72 79 A lack significant previous management observed yields.

Effect of Tillage and Nitrogen Rate on Corn Yield and Nitrogen and Phosphorus Uptake in a Corn-Soybean Rotation

Understanding tillage, N, and P interactions can contribute to improved N and P utilization and crop response. This study examined the interaction effects of tillage and N rate of two N sources on N and P uptake by corn (Zea mays L.). The study was conducted on Kenyon loam (fine loamy, mixed, mesic Typic Hapludolls) soil at the Iowa State University Northeast Research and Demonstration Farm nea...

Nitrogen yield and nitrogen use of chickpea compared to pea, barley and oat in Central Europe

European agriculture suffers from a substantial deficit of protein sources forlivestock and the projected changes in agro-climatic conditions in Central Europeinclude a higher risk of drought. To address these challenges, the drought resistantlegume crop chickpea was compared with pea, barley and oat regarding its nitrogen(N) yield, protein yield and N use and utilization efficiency under Centr...

Tile Drainage Nitrate Losses and Corn Yield Response to Fall and Spring Nitrogen Management.

Nitrogen (N) management strategies that maintain high crop productivity with reduced water quality impacts are needed for tile-drained landscapes of the US Midwest. The objectives of this study were to determine the effect of N application rate, timing, and fall nitrapyrin addition on tile drainage nitrate losses, corn ( L.) yield, N recovery efficiency, and postharvest soil nitrate content ove...
